Let’s recap from Part 1 and 2
Jesus’s one thing was He found what the Father was doing and where the Father was working and focused on that. As we read through the bible we find Jesus doing this again and again. Yes there were other things He did, He worked as a carpenter and I would suggest daily commitment too.
Yet His heart attitude was focus on the thing (s) the Father wanted Him to do every day. From His very short time of this earth He made a remarkable difference.
Here’s another verse to read slowly a few times and ask the Holy Spirit for revelation on it.
Luke 10:30-37 (NIV)
“In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
But a Samaritan, as he travelled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have”.
Jesus’s question to the expert of the law, is valid for us today.
“Which of these three do you think was a neighbour to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”
The expert in the law replied “The one who had mercy on him
Jesus’s answer still same to us here and now!
Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”
Wow!! Selah here and reflect with Holy Spirit how many times have I not helped or shown up for somebody because I was too busy or in a hurry? Ponder here, let Him speak to your heart, and bring soul healing.
I remember one morning as a youth pastor receiving a phone call from one of the mothers of one of our youth. She said “Craig there is a man in front of our building he is homeless and not in a good state of mind, What are you going to do ?
I rung my wife and we prayed. I was lead to ring a friend and we went to see him. I prayed for him and He felt the power of God ! And he gave his life to Jesus. We then got him some food and found him some temporary accommodation and on Sunday took him to church. We later found him permanent accommodation and he started to see His life get turn around ! A miracle
On another occasion after trying find a home for a young and none of them working out. My wife and I brought this young mother into our home and helped her to learn about being a mother. We loved on her and lead her to the Lord and she attended church and our youth group. I remember talking to her counsellor and she said she had never seen such a remarkable transformation before in a such a short time as she had seen in this young lady (This was only after least than a week after she moved in with us ). A miracle
A further occasion we invited a guy who was on drugs and not in a good stated, He gave hIs life to Jesus. I remember this amazing man telling me that he had never learnt to read, But when he open the bible for the first time he found he could now read ! What an amazing miracle !!! Thank you Jesus
How about one more very recent one ! In fact only just heard about this testimony last weekend through a guest, Who shared how at a conference we attended, I had pray for a security guard, that later shared about the power of God falling on him during the prayer and being healed and delivered of alcoholism, On top of this he owed a lot of money on recall 6 figure and God paid the bill. Now this man is a leader in their church ! Now that is cool thank you Jesus you deserve all the glory !
We have many stories similar, each just as amazing and simply based on a leadings from the Lord. All co labouring with the Lord as we are not any different to you ! Just were willing to be used by Him and to be His hands and feet.
Remember Jesus is a powerful force to see life’s transformed and community transformation ! But the Lord wants to see this in relationship with you ! Co labouring through you ! Bust are you willing, open and ready !
So my question again for you today
What is the one thing the Lord has for you to do today?
Reflection Questions:
1. Ask What is ONE THING the Lord wants you to do today?
2. Now what’s the WAY Lord? Record what He says
3. Now ask Him HOW He wants you to do this thing.
4. Record it and start doing what He DIRECTS you.
5. If you don’t hear anything then as you go about your day, Ask Him to SHOW you what He is doing and that you don’t miss what He is doing by being distracted.
Father we ask that You will reveal even more of what you are doing. Please help us to hear what You are saying to do and what You are calling us to collaborate with You? So that Your Glory may come and we may see lives transformed. We give You all the Praise and Glory. In Jesus Name. Amen
