Do you pray? Who do you direct your prayers to? Who do you encounter or seek most out of the Trinity? God in 3 persons- Blessed Trinity the song says.
Do you pray to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit? Or just one of them? Would your prayers be more successful and hitting on point if you prayed to the correct part of Trinity? And how do you know which is the right part of Trinity to direct prayers to?
Hmm intrigued now too then read on and let’s see the revelation and pick up the gems and ask how to Apply them.
One morning as I was praying I had a most unusual encounter with God! You see I was praying and asking Holy Spirit for help with a situation I was facing. My prayer then changed and I asked Jesus for the answer! Why? Because I heard Holy Spirit say if you’re asking Me for help how come you’re directing your prayer toJesus?
Yep like you are stunned, I was stunned and paused here. And I thought are they not one and the same?The Godhead and Trinity (Father ,Son and Holy Spirit)! As I was pondering and mediating this thought these questions came to mind:
Who is the Holy Spirit? Who is Jesus? and Who is the Father?
The answers I knew The Father is our Provider and Protector, Jesus is our Lord, Saviour, Messiah, brother, Husband, or friend, Holy Spirit is our Counsellor, Advocate, Healer ( yes all parts of the trinity go much deeper, But thought to simplify). May I suggestion you study each part of the trinity to understand this more.
The Lord said to me when you preach this weekend I want you to share this encounter and message. Then ask the people to start directing their prayers to the part of the Trinity they relate too.
He said if you do this you will see people getting answers to questions they have been asking me for over 5 years. It just so happened I was preaching in our church the next weekend so I just had to test this word and see what would happen! The saying goes Curiosity killed the cat, yet in the kingdom Curiosity lead us into miracles, signs and wonders!
I could hardly wait to see what He would do. That following Sunday I took part of the message time to share what the Lord had directed and got people to test it out!
I asked how many people had just received answered to questions they had just asked God? Hands went up all over the place!
Then I said how many have had answers to question they have been asking the Lord for over five years? 5 hands went up! I was amazed We gave God thanks! ( as there was only about 50 in the room this was about 10%)
Here I thought how come I had never heard of this way of praying? I approached a very good pastor friend who was a strong teacher of The Word and shared what I had seen! He said “that’s called a Trinitarian Prayer and we used to pray like that.
It left me thinking so how do I use this or teach this? If I’m honest I still don’t know, yet if you have been asking God for an answer for years and not received the answer.
Why not give it a try? Pray to the specific part of the Trinity.
Challenge Time:
1. As Trinity to reveal what prayers you are in the waiting for answers to? Write them down
2. Who of the Godhead do these prayers need to be directed to? Write it down.
3. Your choice, it’s time to redirect these prayers to the Specific part of the Trinity, if you are willing and ready then do it, speak out the prayers in faith to the correct Godhead and thank that part of the Godhead you have been heard.
4. Dive Deeper into getting to KNOW who Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit is to you in the season you are entering in this new year.
5. Thank each of them for Who they are and the Characteristics they have given you, as you are made in the image of the Trinity.
6. Each moment ask before you pray who the prayer is to be directed to, then in obedience do it, worship as you wait, worship after the answer and give Thanks because God is Worthy of All the Praise, Glory and Honour.
Father please help us to use this revelation that we would pick up praying Trinitarian Prayer in which Holy Spirit You would lead us by Your Spirit to who of the Godhead we direct our prayers to each time. For the prayers we are in waiting for the answer to come Jesus would You reveal who we are to direct these waiting prayers to? And no matter what help us to keep worshipping, praising and declaring the Faithfulness of You Abba Father and Amazing Mercy You show us. We love You. In Jesus Mighty Name and By His Blood. Amen.
