The Seed and the Sower – Part 5

Let’s recap the gems we’ve discovered in our series, firstly that the Seed is the Word of God and that there are many ways we can lose God’s Word in our life. We saw it can be lost by satan, the enemy, God, even ourselves, and us not passing it on. Quite a list right?

Today we’re going to talk about another one others, how through others we can lose God’s Word in our life. Ooh yes, others can restrict, distort or destroy the Word God has given us through many ways.

Here we need a reminder – who have we given permission and authority to SPEAK INTO OUR LIVES? Is it still the season for them to be doing that? Don’t know, ask God He will give you wisdom and discernment there, all you need to do is ask.

As it is important to have people who speak into our lives, however we need to ensure they are not restricting or taking stuff away from our lives.

Have you watched a movie where the father or mother who love their daughter/Son, restrict her/him from using the gifts which God had given them? It’s often in these movies is that what comes out in the end is ‘the hurts of the parents, inside the parent, are being used to restrict or restrain their child, simply because hurt people hurt people, and do what they know or default to.

Ouch! Can you relate in your own parenting or marriage to a time your hurts, heart attitude, offense you carry, has actually restricted or disempowered God’s Voice or Word in your own child or spouse?

I can, and aren’t we so thankful for God’s amazing Love and Mercy that He pours out over us never runs out and is in abundance?

Again to remind us the VITAL importance of having GOOD people in our lives that will equip us, rather than deplete us, or restrict us, of the plans and purposes of achieving the words God has spoken over us.

Let’s see it in the Word of God, the power of the spoken word and how it brings life or death to what God has said. Proverbs 18:21 “The tongue has power over life and death; those who indulge it must eat its fruit”.

Your words are so powerful that they will kill or give life, and the talkative person will reap the consequences”

Jezebel and Elijah in the cave 1 Kings 19:1-4

“Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So may the gods do to me and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by this time tomorrow.”Then he was afraid, and he arose and ran for his life and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.

But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he asked that he might die, saying, “It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life, for I am no better than my fathers.”

Let’s pause to share and continue on his story soon.

Elijah was someone living in the plan and purpose of God, who got taken out by the words of another for a time, who did what we all do when we can’t hear God, he ran away and hid,

Key: Who are we allowing permission or a voice to speak words in our life?

We need discernment from Holy Spirit to know that person trying to help us, doesn’t  have an ulterior motive, that their HEART is PURE.

“Blessed are the Pure in Heart for they shall see God” Matthew 5:8

Key: If it’s the wrong person then we give our Authority away to them, and we are rendered and relinquished null and void.

We actually give everything away, like Elijah is and where if we are honest every single one of us has been, will be, or is at in our journey.

Key: People can take God’s word, by what they say, which can even replace it in our live so .

So BE ON GUARD AND STAND WATCH to keep God’s Word alive in your life and so you are not deceived or destroyed.

When some people see someone succeeding they will try destroy them with their words or actions, as they see the success in their lives, and realise they don’t have it. Envy is at play, with jealousy and covertness of another’s gift of God.

BUT GOD!! He is always ready and waiting to INTERVENE and INTERRUPT us at exactly the right time! Hallelujah,

We see this throughout the Bible God continually showing up, loving, reminding and speaking through actions and Word Truth of His Presence, Powe, Provision and Promise with them through meeting them where they are at.

This happens for Elijah, the angel, a sent one by God to minister provision to his hurts and bring wholeness and healing, strength and Truth back to him.

Let’s continue on in 1 Kings 19:5-8

And he lay down and slept under a broom tree. And behold, an angel touched him and said to him, “Arise and eat.” And he looked, and behold, there was at his head a cake baked on hot stones and a jar of water. And he ate and drank and lay down again. And the angel of the Lord came again a second time and touched him and said, “Arise and eat, for the journey is too great for you.” And he arose and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the mount of God”.

Key: God made a way out and will allow us the way out, and is always after REDEEMIING us.

For He Has a plan and purpose (Jeremiah 29:11-13) but due to words spoken, lies create lies (attraction)

Let’s end with 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20 declare it over yourself as your Father speaks to your heart.

After all, what gives us hope and joy, and what will be our proud reward and crown as we stand before our Lord Jesus when he returns? It is you! Yes, you are our pride and joy”

Amen, our prayer is that today you know child of God that you are His pride and joy and that you can be filled with hope and joy today in this truth.

Challenge: Grab your journal, space and record all that God gives you.

1. Study and Soak in Ephesians Chapter 1 for a week or longer, and ask Holy Spirit to highlight for you your Authority in Christ Jesus, record all He highlights as these are key for you and this season you are in.

2. Ask God who who is speaking into your life and are they equipping you to become more like Christ in Character?

3. Start declaring and walking in your God given Authority in Christ over yourself, situations, circumstances events and record what God does in you and in them.

4. Worship Time – position yourself, your heart, mind, spirit to be Present and Give Glory to the Holy One who has met with you

Father God, thank You that You are constantly speaking over us and speaking promises and plans to us. We ask that You remove those voices of others so that we can hear Your voice clearly and follow You. Holy Spirit would You ignite our heart and spirit to walk in the Authority Jesus gave us, and to live from the place of being a Son and daughter no matter where we are, who we are with, what we see, we have All Authority because of Christ in us. In Jesus name. Amen.
