Hallelujah! We are here, we’ve journeyed through to the day, time, moment of Christ’s Birth, and do we realise we have what they received! But God!! ❤️
They Received the Son of Man, Righteous Government, Wonderful Counsellor, Everlasting Father, Almighty God, Prince of Peace.
Wow names hold weight and awe don’t they? Do you know what your name means? One of my kids loves to ask what does their name mean as we meet a new person. For he connects to a person through the meaning of their name.
Names are significant and weighty!!!
Jesus, Son of God, was born in a stable, no room for Him, no space made, BUT GOD Sovereign Almighty Father, exactly had planned for that, yet to the people of the day, who was expecting the King of Kings, Saviour, Messiah to come War, then rescue and deliver them, that He would come from a lowly position of a vulnerable, dependent baby, who would LEAK JOY to all who would choose to see?
But God!!
Jesus, “God saves” – is no different, not only is His name prophesied and foretold, it was also mentioned years years years beforehand – Jesus, Messiah, Saviour, Redeemer is not a new name or term.
Yet the way He comes is confounding. Who was expecting a helpless, humble baby be Restorer and Saviour of ALL people and things?A breast fed, held and cuddled, helpless baby to be Answer to every pain, ache, loss, and longing… JESUS!!!
EMMANUEL!!!
His Name Is Jesus
His name is above every other name; His name is beautiful, powerful, glorious, and majestic. At His name, every knee will bow, in heaven and on the earth, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
How did He get this name?
He humbled himself by becoming man, and while being fully God, did not consider equality with him something to be taken advantage of. Instead, He came as a servant in human likeness, and He lived a pure and spotless life, and when the time came, He took upon Himself the sin of the world by dying a death on the cross.
The story didn’t end there, three days, the tomb held Him there, but in victory, He came up out of the grave and took His seat at the right hand of God, where he sits to make intercession for us.
He sits and makes way for us to draw near to God by His blood. By His name, we are saved, and it is this man we worship and adore, the Son of Man, Jesus whose name is sweeter than honey and whose name we celebrate for eternity.
Lift up a shout of praise and adoration to Jesus today, give Him thanks for all He has done. Wonderful God, Prince of Peace, Everlasting Father, we adore you today.
Philippians 2:9 -11 NIV”Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Isaiah 9:6 NIV”For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
As I close, I ask that you continue to ponder on Jesus – the Word of God in the flesh, fully God, fully man, long awaited messiah, Prince of Peace but also the kind, compassionate, gentle and loving Man, lover of our soul.
He came to clear the way so that we could once again access the loving embrace of the Father.
Will you come and behold Jesus this Christmas?
Will you come and rest with Him?
Let’s Pray: Lord, thank You for coming to be Emmanuel – God with us. As we ponder on You this Christmas, I ask that You bless each and everyone of us during this time of joyful celebration of Your birth and let us be able to be thankful for loved ones that we will gather with and pour out your Love, Joy and Peace on every household, in Jesus name, Amen.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
