A few days ago I was in prayer with one of our pastors and the Lord highlighted the fruit of the Spirit to me.
As I shared this with him, I believe the Lord revealed to me how important the fruit of the spirit will be for this next season that we have started walking into ; as we transition out of isolation .
He showed me that each fruit is made especially for a time like this. So what are the 9 fruits of the spirit ? We find the answer to this question :Galatians 5:20-23Love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control .
Each one of these words holds within it a unique quality of Jesus. Each of these special qualities are a witness to the world of a ‘new way’ . This ‘new way’ is centred in a promise that will never disappoint . A promise that ends with an amazing reward .
What will happen when we reveal each of these 9 characteristic’s of Jesus to the world ? I believe we find the answer to this : Romans 2:5 (Passion Translation) …all the wealth of his extravagant kindness is meant to melt your heart and lead you into repentance.A melting heart, open to repent and a life changed.
One of the greatest examples of this is the story of Jesus and Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1-10 NIV) All Jesus did was call Zacchaeus down from the tree and tell him He was coming to his place for dinner. No other words were spoken, yet Zacchaeus’s life was changed on the journey . It was Jesus’s revealing of the Fathers kindness that lead Zacchaeus to repentance.
So here is your challenge today :
- Write down all of the 9 fruits of the spirit on individual cards.
- Each day pray & ask the Lord how you can reveal one of these characteristic’s to a person in your life.
- Now it’s time to put what the Lord has shown you into action.
- Ask the Lord to water the seed you have given.
- Write a journal for the days you are doing these tasks.
- Give the Lord thanks for all He is teaching you.
Thank you Lord for all you are doing in this time and season . Help us to reveal to the world all you are . Amen
