Since my last post message the Lord has kept the word hope on my heart. The meaning of the word hope according to the dictionary is referred to as
‘a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen’. An example like
“he looked through her belongings in the hope of coming across some information”
So an expectation and a desire that doing something actively can achieve a result is what the world sees hope as.
I wonder how many of us see hope this way if we will be honest ?
For I believe the Lord sees hope differently ?
Roman 28:8 talks about a different hope , a hope that leads to certainty and absolute.
Romans 8:28 (NKJV)
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
I Love how Psalm 33 puts it
Psalms 33:20-22
The Lord alone is our radiant hope
and we trust in him with all our hearts.
His wrap-around presence will strengthen us.
As we trust, we rejoice with an uncontained joy
flowing from Yahweh!
Let your love and steadfast kindness overshadow us
continually, for we trust and we wait upon you!
In a worldly sense hope is wishful thinking, imagination or even a far-fetched dream that is earned or worked for. When the real hope I believe is defined by a relationship with the Lord and is a gift.
Here is a question for you today. What is your hope based on.
Is hope in your life based on expectation, desire and works or does it have a firm foundation in a relationship with the Lord ?
Maybe ask the Lord to show how you truly see hope. By saying a prayer like
Father God show me how I see hope ?
Write down all He shows you.
Father God show me how you see hope ?
Write down all He sows you.
The Lord only reveals a new perspective to us as an invitation for greater tomorrow.
If the Lord has shown you something different between how He sees Hope and how you see it. It is your choice which one you want to live with from this day forward. You simply need to lay your understanding, perspective down and choose to pick up His. By saying a prayer like:
Father God I lay down my thoughts and understanding of hope and choose to pick up Your true understanding of hope.

Father I ask that you will help us all to discover your hope today in a new way, that from it, Father we will be changed from this day fourth amen.
