One morning the lord lead me to Esther 6, I started to read it, then laid it down as could not see why the Lord had directed me to it. Later I re read it and this time I saw what the Lord was saying. “Nothing you have done for God with be forgotten”.
Let’s read the first two verses of Esther 6
Esther 6:1-2 (NKJV)
The King Honours Mordecai
“That night the king could not sleep. So one was commanded to bring the book of the records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king. And it was found written that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s eunuchs, the doorkeepers who had sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus”.
We see these suddenly moments where kings or people remembering the efforts, tasks or achievements of one, some years, decades or generations after they were done right through the bible, How many others these story can you recount ?
Joseph, Daniel, Ziba as well as our above scripture Mordecai or Hilkiah the kohen gadol said to Shaphan the scribe, “I have found a scroll of the Torah in the House of Adonai (2 Kings 22)
Have you thought why is this? I believe it’s because of this word the Lord gave me nothing you have done for God will ever be forgotten, for they are like monuments throughout history that still shine His goodness! It often seems when the light of these moments is about to go out, that the Lord reveals them, so that breakthrough can happen! Like seeds awaiting the One that can make them grow.
I wonder if everything we do for the Lord He sees as seed awaiting for another to come after us to water so He can bring the growth. As we know seeds can stay dormant in the ground for thousands of years waiting for water. These seeds of remarkable thing done for Him await are call out for us to water them !
Recently I had this thought around a FGBMFI chapter we have had the incredible privilege to plant in Silverdale. Many years ago this which held breakfasts for men in Whangaparāoa ministry closed down and the funds they had past to our Chapter in Warkworth Mahurangi. Now many years later, our chapter has helped re plant the chapter with a committee of men who did not know each other from different churched, but are on fire and have the passion to see community transform through the ministry of FGBMFI. They have planned a not only a breakfast in Whangaparāoa for men, but also a dinner in Silverdale every month. The seed was still in the ground of that area wating the ones that would come and water it that God would bring the growth
1 Corinthians 3:6 (NIV)
“I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow”.
In conclusion nothing you do for God will be forgotten. It may not been seen by you as it was with the above chapter of FGBMFI for some of the ones that originally set up and ran the ministry have passed away, yet I am sure they are seeing it from heaven. The bible talks about this in the cloud witness..
Hebrews 12:1 (NKJV)
“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us”
I wonder if we would see more if we asked the Lord to reveal the seeds that others have planted around us, that He may allow us to water so He can bring forth growth.
Challenge Time:
1. May it be planted in your heart and remember today: That everything you do for the Lord will be remember by Him. And the bible says He will one reward you for it. Although this should not be the main focus He should be.
2. Ask the Lord to show the seeds in the ground around you that others have planted.
3. Then ask Him if you can water them to see revival, restoration or re birthing of them
4. Ask the Lord what is new thing He is doing?
5. Ask Him if you can co labour with Him for it to be seen in this or future generations
6. Obey Him
7. Give Him Thanks
Father would You pour Your love out on this generation, as Your children ask to see the seeds other generationssowed, that You would prepare and provide for them to water the ground so you can bring growth. Lord would You help them seek You to perceive the new things You are doing and through seeking You their eyes, ears and hearts will be open to understand embrace and walk in new things to see them come to pass. In Jesus name. Amen
