Need,Will and Promise Part 1

Hebrews 10:36 (NKJV)

For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise”:

What a remarkable statement and scripture for the times we are currently in!

The need for endurance is vital and key to the fulfilment of the secret mission that the  Lord has placed on you, while you live on earth!

This secret mission was created by Him for you, it’s only you who can do it. That’s the VALUE you have to Him and to the world around you.

It’s a ‘secret mission’ that we only know a part of  it, to reveal Him in action, word and witness, by making disciples, baptising them in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything He has commanded, like Who the Lord is, and how to live a life approved by Him, which brings Him glory!

Simply we are here to help others discover their true identity (in Christ) what they were placed on this earth for? And to help find the answer to the questions like why was I born, and what am I here for?

Matthew 28:16-20

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Let’s look again at this verse from Hebrews for within contains Revelation, Wisdom and Understanding. In fact I believe it has the keys to be able to come through and be victorious in these times we are in: current lockdowns, economic uncertainty, and duress.

Hebrews 10:36 (NKJV) “For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise

Here are the 5 points we are going to focus on over the next few days:

1. Need

2. Endurance

3. Will of God

4. Receive

5. Promise

First on the list is NEED. The entry point for a successful outcome is transparency and vulnerability! Where a person admits they have a need. Be it a need for change, for transition, for provision, advice, or direction.

I love ‘need’ is the first thing addressed, for we all have needs, some bigger than others. Especially in the times we are in, as situations and circumstances have changed due to COVID. What we did not need yesterday, we now need today, or need tomorrow, what was a want a year ago, is now essential for business survival, health, or vocation.

Are you wondering why the Lord addresses it first? Well simply, He wants us to start at acknowledging we have needs, we are not complete there are gaps we all have, and for us to know He can meet ALL of these needs, Matthew 7:7 and Luke 11:9 tells us this truth: Jesus tells us to not worry for the Father knows our needs, this again He reiterates inMatthew 6:25-34.

So when the Lord says in the verse you have a need He is pointing out two things, first the obstacle and the solution.

We will pause there and pick up part 2 next time with Endurance, Will of God, Receive and Promise.

Challenge time: Grab your journal and be with the Lord to ask the following:

1. Lord what needs do I have? Lord what needs do I not know that I have?

2. Lord would You help me trust You to meet my needs, and worship You as I wait?

3. Worship time, lift up the Name of Jesus, as He is Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who Provides for your needs.

Father thank You, that through this scripture today You have given us the key to be able to be successful in our mission and this season we and the world are currently in. We lift up our government and we lift up our business and ministries to You. Help us see the need for endurance with a focus on our mission, reward and Your promise. In Jesus name. Amen.
