Here is a quick recap from part one !
My appointment and endorsement of the role or office of a Prophet, was as often described, by other prophets, throughout the scriptures when prophets were appointed eg, Samuel (1 Samuel 3:4-5) and Jeremiah (Jeremiah 1:4-5).
Yes! That was the audible voice of the Lord Jesus
I did not want to be a prophet, although the gift of prophecy was prominent in my early years of ministry,
This gift did not mean I was a prophet, yet it did begin my walk into the understanding of the prophetic.
Let’s continue with part two.
It was more than 6 years later before I had the encounter with Jesus and His appointment to be a prophet.
In my early years as a prophet, I would not reveal the title, as was not sure how pastors would be with it,or take it. Yet the pastors I were mentoring or helping would introduce me as or call me out as a prophet.
It was not until 2-3 years later that the Lord spoke to me and said “I want you to put the word prophet on your card” when I asked do I remove Itinerate pastor (which was what I was doing at that time) , He said “No, as the title pastor will allow you to be able to be welcomed to the pulpit and once there you can speak from your office/ role as a prophet”.
Honestly I still struggle with the role because of the responsibilities. For example the Lord will ask me to speak words to people or a person that I know, which carry great weight and importance and the outcome of their choice can have incredible outcome or the opposite.
For example, one morning the Lord asked me to ring a man, He said tell him if he does not take timeout to rest he will be dead in 3 days. So I did as the Lord requested, He decided to take this word seriously and three days later he was in a cafe having coffee, when his watch alerted him his blood pressure was over 200 (as I recall around 250) and His heart rate the same. Then he remembered the word the Lord had given him, that had been obedient and done what the Lord said to do ‘Rest” . At that exact moment his blood pressure and heart rate came down to normal. He rung to say if he had of continued his daily routine with lots of stress, this event would have killed him according to the a medical report.
This type of thing has come common to me, but in a variety of ways. This used to worry me a lot, until the Lord taught me my role is to be obedient and deliver His word, If I do not then the consequence was on me, but if I do deliver the word in the way He said then my job is done, the rest is up to the people or person who receive it. This word from the Lord took a lot of pressure off me, But did not change my heart from praying for all His words to land on good ground or be received with the right heart and bear the fruit the Father intended.
So let me finish with this for today, if Jesus has appointed you to be a prophet or one of the other roles in the 5 fold ministry as per Ephesian’s 4:11. Then it is time to stand up and use all He has given you, to do what you have been commission to do.
The calling to nurture and prepare all the holy believers to do their own works of ministry, and as they do this they will enlarge and build up the body of Christ (Ephesian’s 4:12). If there is ever a time for enlarging and building up the body of Christ it is today. With all that has been going on in the world today.
Next year we are carefully, planning and preparing, a place and a school to teach Apostle and Prophets. A safe place for discovery and learning how your role works and how to excel in it with the Lord.
Father I thank you for all your believers, I especially lift up the ones your have appointed in the roles/office of Apostle,Prophet,Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher
So Your body, will be build up, preparing the bride for Your returning. So finally we can become one perfect man with the full dimensions of spiritual maturity and fully developed in the abundance of You Christ. Amen
