Intimacy

As I woke last Saturday morning the Lord spoke this word into my spirit and started revealing an amazing insight to me.

When the word intimacy is mentioned in society it is often directly linked with sex. Although this has some truth, intimacy is actually far deeper that the physical action we call sex.

True intimacy is found in two becoming one :
Genesis 2:24
Matthew 19:5
Mark 10:8
Ephesians 5:31

The scripture provides an amazing picture of a union between a man and his wife becoming one ( echad ) in the flesh.
Which can only be possible with Love, Trust, Faith, full Submission, Consent and Surrender.

The doorway to the fullness of intimacy is through vulnerability and transparency.
The blood shed in the moment of intimacy on a wedding night through the vail being torn in two in a woman and the entering into the secret place of the holy of holies of her body by her husband. It is in this moment that they will experience, the two becoming one in flesh.

It is interesting that the Lord chose the same entry point in the invitation to us as His bride. But He provides the blood and torn vail that allows us to enter the secret place; the Holy of Holies with Him not sexually but emotionally, physically and spiritually.

There is a cost and a reward for both partners when a woman receives her husband. It is conveyed at a physical, emotional and spiritual level between them.
In a similar way Jesus paid the price physically for His intimacy with us in the spiritual, for our relationship with Him; and that will never end at His instigation !
As true intimacy can only be achieved in a God ordained marriage; it is why Jesus is the Husband and we are His bride.

My challenge for you today is ;

If you are married; have you really experienced true intimacy, two becoming one ?
If you are single or about to be married; do you really want the fullness of intimacy, of two becoming one ?
Do you long for intimacy with our Lord Jesus Christ; the two of you becoming one ?

If so, the answer to each is the same. It’s starts with a choice and a decision.
The choice of your Lord and saviour. Your wife/husband or future wife/husband.
The doorway to the fullness of intimacy is through vulnerability and transparency.
This doorway is right in front of you today.

Here’s your challenge today :

1. Take sometime to ask Him to reveal which of the following areas He wants to grow you in today:
   Love, Trust, Faith, full Submission, Consent and Surrender ?
2. Ask Him to show you how to become vulnerable and transparent ?
3. If you are like me and had sex out of marriage. Don’t beat yourself up. Ask the Lord for forgiveness and to restore the experience and fullness of intimacy to you.
4. Thank the Lord for all He has done for you today.

For those who don’t know Jesus and want oneness with him. May I lead you in a prayer that will change your life:
Simply say
Lord Jesus I know I am a sinner
I repent of all my sins
Please forgive me
I know You died on the cross for my sins
I hand over the reins of my life
I ask that You manage my life from this day forward. And be my Lord and Saviour
Amen.

Father intimacy is where we will find the oneness we so long for, with You. Help us today to be vulnerable and transparent in front of You. Also, Lord help us discover the rich rewards of the true intimacy You plan for a husband and wife.
Last of all Lord, help us go deeper in our walk with you, which will lead us to discover our true self in You . Amen
