How will we see the promises over our life come to pass? and for them to be not only birthed, but to complete everything they were intended for?
Have you ever pondered this question?
Today I would like to share a leading the Lord awoke and taught me to pass onto you one morning.
The Lord took me to a scripture that explains the process for how the birth of the greatest promise ever, His Son started.
Let’s turn to:
Luke 1:26-27 (NKJV)
“Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary”.
When we think of the word virgin we relate it to sex, one that has abstained and awaits for a time to give this special gift away to their wife or husband to be. But as like many things in the Lord they often have other contexts or meanings too.
Yes, Mary was a virgin in relation to not having had sexual intercourse, and yes this does have relevance and importance for this promise.
Which we see in:
Isaiah 7:14 (TPT)
“The Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold—the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son and will name him God Among Us”.
But there is another meaning for the word Virgin which He showed me has more relevance to us and His promises today.
Virgin: a person who is naive, innocent, or inexperienced in a particular context.
In another words ONE WHO IS INNOCENT OF HEART
Here we take note: Mary had a submissive heart which was open and always ready for God to enter into. Mary was yielded and gave full consent to the Spirit and His desire for her, she didn’t withhold. The same is true in marriage relationship.
“So do not withhold sex from one another, unless both of you have agreed to devote a certain period of time to prayer. When the agreed time is over, come together again so that Satan will not tempt you when you are short on self-control”. (1 Corinthians 7:5)
Mary lived this out giving full consent and giving all of herself to God, for God and His purpose and will.
Mary being innocent of heart and submissive in heart open to God’s ways.
This was the biggest key to seeing the promise conceived and then to be birthed (Jesus ) through her.
Let’s carry on
Luke 1:28 (NKJV)
“And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favoured one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”
Ok let’s reflect on this verse what is happening?
The angel came into Mary
The phase ‘coming in or into’ through out the bible relates to sex, correct leading to conception. So The Lord sent the angel to have sex with Mary?? Well yes but not in the natural but in spiritual through the Holy Spirit.
The angel PLANTED A SEED, a sperm (word) in her heart through the Holy Spirit. In preparation and as an invitation to a promise for conception.
Then the angel says Rejoice. What the angel is doing is an EXPRESSION OF HEAVEN, what’s happening in Heaven and within the FATHER’S HEART!
When the Lord sends an angel or allows the Holy Spirit to come into us! He knows and Rejoices with the angels. Why? Because He knows and sees all; including the outcome and the fulfilment of His word, promise or seed.
This next step is UNDERSTANDING. The angel is speaking, declaring the why? This is the fertiliser needed for the seed He has planted.
…….highly favoured one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”
Let’s carry on
Luke 1:29 (NKJV)
“But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was”.
What an honest response by Mary. Is this not us when we face the Promises that have come into us and have been planted in our hearts? Hmm wow!
Let’s leave it there and pick up in the 2nd part more of the revelation God has for us. On how to see promises and words He’s spoken out over life’s, come to fruition.
Challenge Time:
Maybe sit with Father God and ask Him for a picture showing you how you approach Him. Are you vulnerable and honest with Him? Like when you receive news you don’t like, words you don’t understand, situations that you can’t control?
Ask Him for a picture of how He’d like you to approach Him? ‘So you can come expectant of what Papa says, and come boldly before His throne, to pour out your heart before Him, to be real about how things are.
Now you have a choice which approach do you want to keep? Simply tell Him so and thank Him for the new approach He’s given you and start living it out.
Father, thank You for this revelation of the process for how promises spoken by You come to pass. We ask that our hearts would be surrendered and submissive to consent with Yes, to all that You are wanting to do and having us partner with You in. Thank you Jesus. Amen.
