How do we Build Kingdom Culture in ourselves, our Homes, Workplaces, and our Communities (Written By Paula Blackie)

We’re doing a series on How do we Build Kingdom Culture in ourselves, our homes, workplaces, and communities. We always start with Prayer, it needs to become our lifestyle, our go to, for as we continually plug into Holy Spirit, we hear Him and He aligns us to Him.

The Lord led me to this question, that framed another question:

How do we ‘BUILD and REBUILD? And what is He asking us to build?

I keep hearing and seeing this message over and over, we are all called to ‘build and rebuild with Himand that involves a cost – a sacrifice, of releasing things we’ve held onto that are no longer relevant and useful in this now season of ‘building and rebuilding’ He is wanting to reinstate both things of old and new, the ancient paths, practices, and ways, that we have forgotten, dropped off our radar, or that have escaped us. The Word says “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls” Jeremiah 6:16.

The definitions of ‘build and rebuild’ are –

to repair, to dismantle and reassemble with new parts, to replace, restrengthen, or reinforce, to revise, reshape, or reorganize, to afresh:

Did you notice that RE before a word gives greater power, emphasis and impact? All are action words, not passive words, they involve movement and momentum.

God saying son/ daughter/ beloved of Mine, will you partner with Me, and join My plan for ‘repairing, restrengthening, reassembling’ the Kingdom with Me, My Way. Are you willing to ‘build and rebuild’ with Me?

What an invitation that is repeated throughout the Word by Father God.

Remember Jeremiah, the ‘prophet’ who was young, BUT told by God don’t resent being young, be firm and confident, knowing that I’ve chosen you, and put My words in your mouth, speak for Me’ God sent him to pluck up, break down, destroy, and overthrow.

“See, I have set you this day over nations and over kingdoms,
to pluck up and to break down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.” Jeremiah 1:10

BUT we can’t stop here, and go ok God this must be what it’s about the destruction of things opposing you? No, we’ve got to keep on going, reading and seeking out the treasures of the Word, as there’s so much MORE God wants to say and for us to discover from Him. In doing so we uncover these promises, and declarations from God.

I will set my eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land. I will build them up, and not tear them down; I will plant them, and not pluck them up” Jeremiah 24:6 and “I will rejoice in doing them good” Jeremiah 32:41

This is God, our Papa, who focuses and majors on ‘building and rebuilding – restoring, reconciling, and eventually transforming the one’ to be the authentic version of who He created them to be, as His son or daughter, as they KNOW Him, not know about Him.

And again later in Jeremiah 31:31-34

“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbour and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

Wow read and read again, what a promise we have that we have been given a NEW COVENANT not by works and the law, but by heart, by love as the motivation we are completely restored back to the Father’s heart and plan & purpose for our lives.

In the next part to this series we will look at the first thing God wants to ‘build and rebuild in Kingdom Culture – HONOUR – what actually is it? and how do we live in and out of it out?

APPLICATION: Grab your journal, be with the Lord and write down all He says to these questions:

  1. Father God “what does my part of building and rebuilding Kingdom Culture look like’ – would You give me an image or words for each sphere of influence I have?
  • Father God ‘what is the cost You’re asking me to bear in the build and rebuild of Kingdom Culture? – He might show you things to lay down, release or things to pick up.
  • Choice time: God has shown you what your part of building is and the cost to building His way, if you want to pick up this: say a simple prayer like, ‘Father I choose to pick up Your way of building (the image you showed me) I choose to lay down and release the cost (what He showed you) that is holding me back from building Your kingdom, and instead I choose with confidence to pick up the cost You showed me and build a new with You.
  • Using the image of ‘building and rebuilding’ God has given you, ask what’s the First step to start this process? Believe that in you is all you need to fulfil it.
  • Father God ‘who do You have for me to build and rebuild with?
  • End with a time of worship and thanks!

Father, you are Holy and Worthy, the Lamb and Lion of Judah. Thank You for pouring Your love, grace, and revelation into us, in championing us to build and rebuild with You in Your way. Would You strengthen and refocus us to see You Jesus, and remember that when You take something away You always replace it with something greater, because that’s Your heart. In Jesus name. Amen
