One afternoon as I was preparing for an evening meeting of FGBMFI (Full gospel men fellowship) . The Lord led me to a remarkable scripture, that over the next few days I watched begin to unpack and become vital to inspiring, encouraging and bringing transformation to many lives everywhere I went.
I’m praying that as we unpack this verse today , you will be transformed through it too. amen. So let’s read it !
Romans 8:32 (TPT)
“For God has proved His love by giving us His greatest treasure, the gift of His Son. And since God freely offered Him up as the sacrifice for us all, He certainly won’t withhold from us anything else He has to give”.
The opening line contains this remarkably powerful word ‘‘proves’ why ? you may ask. For God is God! And as He is God He does not need to prove anything! So if He does it, it is out of His free will to do so.
The verse carries on with what He has proven, which is ‘His Love’
Then continues explaining how ‘by giving us His greatest treasure’ the gift of His Son.
Here let’s stop for a moment and reflect what we have just read and read it again . “For God has proved His love by giving us His greatest treasure, the gift of His Son.
In 1 Peter we read “But you are God’s chosen treasure —priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones.
So this shows that the Lord has many treasures and you are His chosen treasure”. (TPT) and in our verse its talks about His greatest gift which was His Son.
I believe this is important as it brings us into context of what it took to provide this Loving act He did. He choose you over His own Son.
Remember what Jesus said “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends”. John 15:13.
Yet I believe there is an even greater Love than this, for it means a greater loss in this lifetime, it is laying down ones Son.
Do you remember the story of Abraham (Gen 22)? When the Lord asked him to sacrifice his first born Isaac, can you truly imagine that?
Both the Father and Abraham faced the same challenge, would they be willing to go through with what was in front of them. Would they lose their son? Or would the Plan, purposes and will of God in both circumstance reveal that which had never been done before. Revealing a way when there seemed to be no way. Described in Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV)
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
You may say that the Father laying down His Son is different from Abraham’s situation, but is it really? If the Father was to give His Son freely and release Him to a world to fully be tempted, it creates incredible risk.
For if Jesus did sin, just once, it would all be in vain, this task would have been extreme risky for the Father ! But He was willing to do it for you and me.
Have you ever thought how great the risk was, for the Father doing what He did for you , by laying down His Son.
Think about it this way in John 1 its says everything that is and was, was created through the word (Jesus), lets read this verse
John 1:1 (NKJV)
The Eternal Word
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
By the Father giving up His Son. He faced the real possibility of never being able to create again, if the mission failed.
We know history showed this type of responsibility even in lessor way being on an angel (satan) and Adam and Eve, all of them failed.
As there had to be two trees in the garden for Jesus and the tempter, with His son having total free will. Did you get that Jesus had to have total freewill as a man. (I know Jesus was fully God too, But he had to be tempted as a man ).Can you see the full weight and understand of the risk that was involved. This is truly hard to imagine, and yet the very next line of our verse reads
And since God freely offered Him up as the sacrifice for us all.
I am hoping and praying that from what you have read above, that you can fathom and I ask Holy Spirit will allow us to see this new perspective. Of what the Father was and has truly giving us and the heart of sacrifice behind His decision.
Take a moment to allow the Holy Spirit to reveal this new prospective to you. The correct view to stand on and look back at what the cost was to the Father when made this decision.
I pray this experience or encounter will be as we see in Romans 12:2 …”renewing of your mind and a revealing proving of what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God”.
Ok now our mind is renewed let’s read the final line
“He certainly won’t withhold from us anything else he has to give”.
Maybe read this a couple of times and let it sink into your spirit. I love the way the Father truly shows His heart of giving and providing for you and me in this verse. A door of opportunity to see provision straight from heaven, to meet all our needs !
Lets me conclude with with this, we should never look at what we have and ask the Lord for what we need. We should thank Him for what He has done and provided for us first before we ask for anything.
In fact I would go has far as giving Him thanks until our eyes are no longer on our lack, but are now on His goodness for you/us ! Then our heart and mind are in the right place to ask for provision from Him. This I believes in capitulated what the Father is saying through Paul in our Verse Roman 8:32 today. This is the secret from promise to provision.
Here’s your challenge today:
1. Write down the challenges or problems you’re facing in your life.
2. Take a space/moment to fully set your heart on how huge the cost was, the risk of the sacrifice of the Father (maybe add the weight of responsibility on the son Jesus )
3. Now say a prayer like this
Father thank You for all you were willing to risk or lose for me, and for giving me Your greatest gift and treasure Your Son. (Maybe add Please make this more real to me) and wait !until your heart and mind is aligned.
4. Now list all the things you can remember that the Lord has done for you, list at least 10-25 things take time don’t rush this !
5. Give thanks for these moments, encounters and provisions ! Until you can truly see and experience His goodness
6 Now look at your challenges/problem written down and prayer this prayer
Father now my heart and mind is aligned with what You have truly proved for me, I thank you for Your provision in these challenges before me. Now I truly know You will provide a solution and provision for me. Thank You for promise of today’s verse “You certainly won’t withhold from me anything else You have to give”. So in this place and moment Lord I receive all that You want to give me today. amen
7. Now sit waiting on Him for any leads and record them.
8. Worship time and praise Your Father for He is so Good
Father thank You for Your incredible revelation which You’ve poured on us today, Keep us coming closer to You. For we know the scriptures say in this place You draw nearer to us! May we feel Your heartbeat and be transformed my Your love amen
Please send us your testimonies ! So we can hear from you about how the Lord has truly blessed you through todays revelation of His Word that never comes back void Amen (Isaiah 55:11)
