Welcome to part 1 of our series of Do your Dreams Reveal Godly Secrets. In the introductory part to this series we got these gems yes “the Lord reveals His plans through dreams He speaks to us” But like with all things the Lord does, the enemy is always trying to copy or replicate to detour us off the path appointed for us to walk on. (If you missed the intro, there is a link at the bottom of this message so you can read introductory part before starting on part 1)
Wow, let’s get going.
Interpreting dreams can be a daunting process, where many start by looking at colours, numbers or themes to relate to biblical meanings. Now these can help, but also I have found they can easily lead us away from the purpose, meaning or reason for the dream.
My rule is this whether I am interpreting others dreams or my own I will ways start with the same way as Joseph did!
Genesis 41 15-16
“And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I have had a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it. I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.” Joseph answered Pharaoh, “It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh a favourable answer”.
Key 1: Joseph was saying to Pharaoh he was not able to interpret it, but the Lord who gave the dreams, will be the One who brings clarity to the explanation of it.
Did you catch it? Joseph knew it wasn’t about him, it was all about God and that He would be the One to reveal the understanding and meaning of the dream!
Pause here, I’m wondering if anyone is feeling the prompt to repent and go to God saying I’m sorry for taking the glory myself and forgetting it’s all about You and You gave the dream so You have the answer. Take a moment if that’s you and then continue on, knowing your heart is in right posture.
Here a scripture comes to mind!
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths”.
We love that verse and quote it right, but here it’s important reminder, that if you wipe, erase or delete the dream, from your thoughts or memory as it does not seem to apply to you, you might just be getting rid of a seed, word or direction for another’s breakthrough that they desperately need or a vital word you will desperately need in your future ! Selah there! In the next part we will be looking at these very points and why the Lord does it this way.
Challenge Time:
Be with the Lord, journal His responses and linger with Him, it’s not a race, it’s having space with Him.Go through both the steps as follows, taking your time and set pace with the leading of the Holy Spirit.
1. Lord I give You permission please EMPTY me of ALL my opinions, thoughts or directions (self). so I can hear Your opinions, thoughts and directions.
2. Lord I ask that I BE Filled up and LED BY THE SPIRIT for as the scriptures says no one can know God except through the spirit of God!
In this moment, Lord would You show me any times I’ve received dreams that I have wiped, erased or deleted from my thoughts or memory, thank You Father. Would You forgive me for getting rid of a seed, word or direction for another’s breakthrough that they desperately need! And today would You give me that seed, word or direction again for the ones breakthrough they are desperate for
- Record all He says and pass it on to the person as He leads.
- Praise Time, in everything Give Thanks and Praise the Name of the One who gives All Revelation, Clarity and Answers to those who seek Him.
Father God, what a feast we are having. Thank You for Your revelation, understanding and new keys you give us, as we are part of One body and Family in Relationship with You. We are in awe that You trust and love us so much to share Your secrets for another’s breakthrough with us. In Jesus name. Amen.
