Today we celebrate Anzac Day, honouring the men and woman who laid down their lives for future generations. They enlisted, went to war not knowing what they were about to face and it was due to their sacrifice we benefit today. If we look through the bible we see lives laid down for future generations to the same degree. In the following scripture, Hebrew 11 is a great Chapter to reflect on a day such as today.
Hebrews 11:39-40 (NKJV)
39 And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise, God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us.
What are you building in your life to pass onto the next generation? What are you investing in today that future generations will benefit from?
My challenges to you today;
1. Ask the Lord to show you those things He has placed in your life for you to pass on. The things you are called by Him to overcome, build, invent or even learn as a gift for future generations.
2. Ask Him to give you the courage, directions and endurance to accomplish these tasks.
3. Pray for the ones that will get to build on your accomplishment in days to come.
4. Thank Him for He is faithful to see these tasks He has placed before you completed.
Father, thank you for showing us today that our lives have greater meaning beyond the time on this earth. I ask you to reveal those purposes and plans that you have called us to act and pass on for future generations. Amen!
