Welcome back to the closing of our series, we left off looking into Freewill and this truth and revelation of what and why the Lord wants us to be Overcomers in all areas of our lives.
Did you know the Lord Loves you too much to see you stay where you are in these areas of your life? So He is continually planning to help you on your journey to becoming an Overcomer in these areas.
But to be an Overcomer or to Overcome anything He knows there needs to be a testing, fighting and refining period. Selah here, if you or I want to be an Overcomer and Overcome areas of struggle in our life, we need to be tested, learn to fight the right way and be refined just like gold is.
The Word of God says: “These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honour on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world” 1 Peter 1:17 NLT
“But these only reveal the sterling core of your faith, which is far more valuable than gold that perishes, for even gold is refined by fire. Your authentic faith will result in even more praise, glory, and honour when Jesus the Anointed One is revealed. TPT
So onto gold, did you realise this pattern of testing, fighting and refining in us, is the same with extracting fine metals like gold out of the natural state it was developed in?.
Let us imagine we are in the refining gold industry. Now if you’ve ever tried to refine gold, you would know there are 2 processes most commonly used to derive PURE GOLD: the Miller process and the Wohlwill process.
1. The Miller process uses gaseous chlorine to extract impurities when gold is at melting point; impurities separate into a layer on the surface of the molten purified gold. The Miller process is rapid and simple, but it produces gold of only about 99.5 percent purity.
2. The Wohlwill process increases purity to about 99.99 percent by electrolysis. In this process, a casting of impure gold is lowered into an electrolyte solution of hydrochloric acid and gold chloride. Under the influence of an electric current, the gold migrates to a negatively charged electrode (cathode), where it is restored to a highly pure metallic state, leaving the impurities as a separate solution or residue. Both methods are taking the metal gold to extreme situations, But each comes out a much more pure product. Let’s take this to another level God’s refining of us can take us to 100 percent.
That’s a lot to take, so right now Selah with the Holy Spirit and ask for His help and wisdom in getting the key points here, so that they remain with you. For this process is the same with the Lord, and our relationship and walk with Him.
Key: His Love moves Him to set up ways that allow for His Love to be refined in us! Just Soak there for a minute.
But instead of heat and chemicals He allows satan to test us! Yes you heard that right, Satan gets to test us. For Love can only truly be tested in a place of free will with two trees in the garden! (two choices and whispers to eat from the wrong one! We see this in the Garden of Eden!
Where we may look at this story and say Why God, would you put both trees in the garden? Did you forget to remove one? God, I would have removed the wrong one, and told the serpent (Satan) to go or sorted a gate he could not enter in?
God answers: YET that does not in any way provide and allow for ‘freewill’ Wow!
Challenge Time: Make space, to be real with the Lord, this is heart refining and aligning time, record His responses in your journal.
1. Ask the Lord to remind you of ways He has set up His love to be refined in you? Write down what He says.
2. Ask the Lord if He wants to set up more ways to refine His love in you, and through you to others? Write down what He says.
3. Take a moment and ask the Lord to highlight an area He is inviting you to be an Overcomer with Him in. (write down what He says)
4. Choice time: If you want to pick up His invitation of an area to become an Overcomer in, then simply say a prayer like “Father, today I choose to pick up say what He’s highlighted to you) and I release to you (all fear, worry, old pattern I have for this area) for Your new way, so that I will be an Overcomer in You.
5. Next step if you want: Ask the Lord for the 1st step in this area He showed you to be an Overcomer in. (write it down) then use your freewill to decide if you want to implement this.
6. Then ask for the next step and write it down. The choice, decision is yours, remember the Lord loves you too much to leave you as you are, but He lets you FREELY decide how much of Him and His way you want.

Father, Thank You for Your unending Love, Mercy, and Life that You are showing and unveiling to us. We trust that You are leading us to greater freedom in You and shaping us to become more like You through refining us by Your love. In Jesus name. Amen.
