Welcome back to Final part of their series
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
Today we begin our conclusion, of what it means by “And He shall direct your paths”. Last time we saw that WAITING is essential to the Lord directing our paths and being led by the Holy Spirit.
Remember even Jesus received the Holy Spirit!
The Holy Spirit is essential to living an overflowing, resurrected life.
In Luke 3:22 it says the Holy Spirit lead Jesus from that day forth. He did this as an explanation and witness for us, that is available to us.
Lastly Jesus can only lead you if you’re willing! Since the Father values free will or the freedom to choose, it is also the same with Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Because they are three by ONE, who make the Trinity.
Do you remember the story of Saul who the Lord anointed to be king? Take a pause now and refresh your memory in 1 Samuel 15. Although the Lord intended for Saul to be King, He directed and lead him through Samuel the prophet yes, but He provided one thing ABOVE everything else, ‘free will – the freedom of choice” and Saul’s choice was to do it his way! Or as Samuel says in verse 22
“Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.
The first parts of this series Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;and In all your ways acknowledge Him, have been all about sacrifice! This is an incredible step and will get you both saved and into the kingdom. BUT without laying down your free will and becoming FULLY OBEDIENT you will remain in that step, and be unable to function in this place, or role with this responsibility.
Challenge Time: Grab your journal and space to with the Lord.
1 Have you had a day of Pentecost in your life? Have you been filled and equipped with the Holy Spirit or clothed in the power from the most high? If so maybe just spend some time thanking Him for the gift He freely gave you, a heavenly language (speak in tongues now)
If not, would you like to? If yes then say this prayer: ‘Father I ask today that You will release the Holy Spirit as You did on Your Son when He was on the earth, and the disciples on the day on Pentecost. So I will be clothed, filled and equipped in power from You (the most high) with the Holy Spirit for life and Your will ahead of me. Amen
2. Now allow Him to the release the dove (spirit) upon you and fill you up to over flowing. If you feel a sound in your heart allow it to come forth from your mouth. Just relax and don’t try and work out what it is or what it means.
Do you know how to know if the sound or utterance is a heavy language? (Is it Tongues)
The Lord said to tell you judge it from the Lens of the Fruit of the Spirit!
Galatians 5:22-23 (TPT)
“But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions:
joy that overflows,
peace that subdues,
patience that endures,
kindness in action,
a life full of virtue,
faith that prevails,
gentleness of heart, and
strength of spirit.
Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless”.
2. Lord are there any areas in my life where I have not laid down my free will and become fully obedient to Your will or direction? Write them down, Ask Him why? Write down what He says.
3. Now ask Him to reveal to you the truth about those thing you have written down.
4. Choice time: do you still want your own understanding in these areas or His (truth)? If you want His Say ‘Father God I choose to lay down my freewill in this area ………………(start with what you first wrote down and I choose instead to pick up Your truth……. (Say what He showed you) thank you Father Amen.
5. Repeat with all that’s written on your list
