Welcome back to our last part of our series
So if He is easy to please ! Why do we try so hard to please Him?
Last time we looked at these three questions
- What pleases the Father the most ?
- How to find, what His will is for you, for each day ?
- How do we stay focused on His will for us each day and what do we do, with everything else ?
This was a big message with so many nuggets of revelation. To help each day of our lives to be more productive, from heavens prospective. After-all most of us want to hear these words from Jesus, as we enter eternity. Well done good and faithful servant ! If you have not read part two here is a link to read it.
Today we will finish this series with our last subject.
The importance of saying how proud we are of our children and how to do this.
In part one of this series, I shared how by never hearing how proud of me my dad was. I grew up with the thought that he wasn’t proud of me or anything I did. Only to find out actually he was proud of me, but never shared it with me. I shared how all this had a negative effect on my life too.
If you have not read part one of this series here is a link to do this.
When we pray the Lord’s Prayer (in Matthew 6:9-13 and in Luke 11: 2-4) and we say ‘as on earth, as it is in heaven’
So if the Father took the time to stop and speak these words over his Son, Jesus in Matthew 3:1 .
This is my Son and in whom I am well pleased.
Then shouldn’t we take the time to do the same, to our children too ?
I wonder if the Father never did this, how the wilderness experience and outcome, could have been remarkably different for Jesus.
This morning the Lord took me to 1 Chronicles 22. It’s the story of how King David who wanted to build a house for the Lord. Prepares everything needed for His son Solomon to build it. The one the Lord had chosen to build it.
1 Chronicles 22:5 (NKJV)
Now David said, “Solomon my son is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the LORD must be exceedingly magnificent, famous and glorious throughout all countries. I will now make preparation for it.” So David made abundant preparations before his death.
Guess what, The Father did a similar thing to this for His son Jesus, by giving Jesus the Holy Spirit. ‘ His Spirit’. In fact by doing this the Father provided everything needed for Jesus to succeed in the wilderness.
Sometimes the dreams we have, will come true through our children.
In my case I found out this was true. As what mechanic, which was my dad’s profession. Wouldn’t like to drive some of the most amazing cars ever built.
It was also true with both David and The Father. Solomon completed the house of the Lord. Jesus did all that was needed. to provide a way for all the Father’s children, including you and me to come home and have a personal relationship with Him.
I do wonder how many of us can get tied up with preparing a financial inheritance for our children. Which is biblically right !
But remember the bible also says there is Life and death in the tongue (Proverbs 18:21).
So may I suggest words spoken at the right time over one’s children, are actually more valuable. Than an inheritance pass onto them, after you are gone.
So how do we say we are proud of our children ?
There are always things that your children will do that you agree with and don’t agree with. As they step into their teenage and adult years, this may or may not be more challenging. But if you take the time to look. you will find things you can encourage them on and say you are proud with them for too.
I remember a friend whose son was going overseas. He rung me and said I don’t agree with this decision, my son is making. So what do I do ?
I knew the son was old enough to make his own decisions, as this young man was in his late teens. So coming against this decision could simply drive him away.
The Lord told me to tell my friend, this young mans father this !
Make sure before he goes
- He knows how much you love him.
- That if things don’t work out, your door is always open for him.
- Then let him go.
I love this amazing wisdom. The testimony from this was his son actually made the personal decision, that it was better for him to not go.
So the second way you can tell your children you are proud of them, is by telling them how much you love them. That you will always keep loving them, no matter what they go through or choices they make.
Also that your door is always open for them. For advice, wisdom and direction.
This is how our heavenly Father does it for us, so it seems only fitting we do the same thing with our children.
Lastly that you will be continually praying for them too.
Which is what the Holy Spirit is doing for us continually too.
To conclude this message today ! May I suggest that you take the time to acknowledge your children. When they are stepping into becoming a man or a woman.
In Jewish custom this is called A bar mitzvahfor boys at 13 years old and bat mitzvah for girls at 12 or 13 years old. Signifying that the boy or girl is now an adult and is responsible for his own actions and choices.
This is a great time to tell them how proud you are of them. That although you might not agree with every decision they will make.
But that you acknowledge, that they are transitioning into a time of life. That they are old enough to start to make their own decisions.
So hence each decision they make, will have responsibilities and consequences, so choose wisely.
This is a great time for the father’s to bless their children too. For more help with this here is a link to buy and download a little book by my friend Richard Bruton called ‘The awesome power of blessing”. You can download it in your own language too. https://richardbruntonministries.org/products/the-awesome-power-of-blessing
To conclude this message my challenge for you this week is simply this.
If you have children
Find some time to tell them how proud you are of them and how much you love them. Then pray a blessing over each on of them.
If you don’t have children
Find sometime this week to look for ways you can encourage your friends, work mates or family. Maybe your husband or wife, girl friend or boy friend too.
Take time to share how proud you are of them, for who they are and how much they contribute into your life. Then pray for them.
Wow what a series ! I believe this series has the power through Him, to transform so many peoples lives. Thank you for joining me on this journey. May the Father bless you and provide for you a blessing that is more that you could contemplate, imagine or dream. May He release upon you even more favour and may He reveal His Love to you more. So that you will be more productive in every moment of your life amen.
For those of you, who want to place an offering at the alter or plant a finical seed in the fertile ground of the Lord. Maybe you could contribute in someway towards His House, we are currently building. To equip the saints for ministry, then release His word through them, in a variety of ways.
