Let’s recap part 1
The topic continues ‘Indeed, my Father will do nothing, either great or small without first telling me !’. Why is it that life often seems like we’re walking blind through it? I believe it comes down to learning to understand how the Lord speaks and reveals these precious gems of what He is doing and about to do. Jesus was the greatest example of this He spent so much time with His Father that He was able to say:
“If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” John 14:7 (NKJV).
Now this puzzled Philip and he said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” I believe this is often where we are with hearing, seeing and discerning what the Father is doing or even who He is really. Jesus showed as in the next lines what it should be from us as it was Him.
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Phillip (Put your name in here instead of Philip ‘s )? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Can we really say that when people see us they see Jesus and through Him the Father? You may say no for only Jesus could do this! But remember everything Jesus did on earth was done as a man!
He chose to lay down His authority, but knew that He could still reveal His Father in word power and wisdom through a very special gift given to us all ‘relationship’ something not earned but freely given with invitation awaiting to be received and revealed.
Jesus shared this in the next line but also gives us remarkable question which I call a cross road in life! John 14:10
“Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves”.
I believe Jesus was offering Phillip something so special that He also offers us today, to believe He and Father are one or believe Him for the sake of the works themselves.
You may say are they not the same? No one speaks that Jesus could do incredible works, the other speaks that Jesus was doing all He did through a very special so One is remarkably greater than the other!
1. We just can believe Jesus did incredible works because He was, Jesus the Messiah
2. Believe He and the Father were one, like an invitation where you’re able to tap into this incredible unbelievable source of Love, power, direction, discernment and clarity. The very source that Jesus was able too by being one with the Father. From this woven deep connection through relationship He could reveal and release the Kingdom of Heaven wherever He went.
The first point allows you to know Jesus, yet the second point allows you to be like Him, a reflection of the Father through Him.
The first point allows you to understand what He has done and the second point is what He is doing and about to do. Hence the our opening verse ‘Indeed, my father will do nothing either great or small without first telling me”.
In closing I will share the rest of the story on a man who I was told to ring and tell him if he did not rest you will be dead in 3 days! I rung him, he received the word and obeyed it ! On third day of rest in a cafe he re recounted to me the event. His sport watch start alerted him that his heart rate at gone into a very dangerous place and I think his blood pressure too. Yet he remembered the word, and instantly the heart rate and blood pressure went straight down. Later he got checked out and was completely ok, yet made aware if he was under any more stress or strenuous activity he would have died.
See Indeed, your Father will do nothing either great or small without first telling you.
That’s His part, BUT are you willing to your part? To build relationship with Him so you can hear?
Let’s end with an incredible prayer ! Between you, the Holy Spirit, Jesus and the Father. I pray as you pray this prayer that you will truly encounter even more of the Father through His Son Jesus ! Through the Holy Spirit.
Let pray ! Father I believe You and the Father are one ! I believe you have in -trusted me with one of the most precious things of all, Your Holy Spirit. You went to the Father so He could come to reveal the fullness of the You to me. I ask Jesus that, as I reveal You, that You reveal the Father, His kingdom through me to the world today. Father I ask that you will reveal to me Your plan,purpose and will for my life to me today. So clearly, as it was with You son Jesus when He walked on the earth that I walk today. That Indeed, My Father will do nothing either great or small without first telling me. Help me to reveal this to my family, church and community! So we all may become mature and prepare for Your Son’s return ! For a perfect bride Amen
