One morning as I was reading the Word this overwhelming thought and these words hit me,This will be what it will be like for those who don’t know God. My heart sunk as I pondered this statement I first thought I’ve read straight out of the bible, soon realising the Lord had allowed me to read these straight from His heart.
Have you either thought about where you would be without Him? Have you ever contemplated what your life would be like right now, if you had never met or encounter Him? If He was to walk out of your life today, where would you be found tomorrow?
These questions we need to ask, for through asking them we are led back to the importance of our relationship with Him. The rock, deliverer, Saviour, healer and mighty counsellor He has been to you and me.
So how did you find Him, what’s your testimony?
John shares an incredible insight to how powerful your testimony is in
Revelation 19:10 (NKJV)
… the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
This verse reveals that your Testimony has power in it. All testimonies of an encounter with Jesus have the same power in them! Why? Because testimonies of Jesus in our lives are like doorways into heaven to see it happen again and again. These doors are opened by simply sharing these testimonies, then His Spirit declares His goodness through His word in power called prophecy.
When the spirit of prophecy is released from heaven it has everything needed to see completion. As it was in Luke 2 when Gabriel prophesied over Mary and she became pregnant with Jesus!
You will never know how powerful your testimony is until you start sharing it! Many of you became believers through hearing a testimony, the Bible itself is a testimony and its content is full of testimonies.
The Bible says in Revelation 12:11
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death”.
This reveals once again how powerful your testimony is, and when combined with the Blood of Jesus even Satan himself is defeated in your life!
So back to the words I received This will be what it will be like for those who don’t know God. Notice this statement I received said don’t know God not choose not to follow or trust God. Although they are quite similar they are not the same group of people.
Paul talks about the people choosing not to know God in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (NKJV)
Perilous Times and Perilous Men
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away”
But what about the ones that don’t know Him at all and never heard about him. There is more of these in our community than ever before, as past generations were ones in Sunday schools or bibles in school. I Think the question ‘This will be what it will be like for those who don’t know God. can be answered with they are heading towards hell and they simply don’t know it. Life could be good or terrible, beyond that they see nothing. They are Lost and they don’t even have thoughts about why? Or where to go to change it.
For many the question about Jesus is never been heard. Jesus gave us a solution for these people and it is US. We see and read it in the last sermon He preached before departing this earth
Matthew 28:16-20
The Great Commission
“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The solution is you starting with you being willing to share your testimony.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? (Isaiah 6:8 NIV)
These were the words the Lord spoke to Isaiah and the are the same today to you and me ! Isaiah answered with
……. “Here am I. Send me!” What’s you answer to the lord today ?
Challenge Time:
1. If you have never written down your testimony of how you came to Christ start there.
2. Ask the Lord to direct you to people to share your testimony with.
3. If they have ears then ask them if they would like to have what you have Jesus
4. If they say yes then ask them to say a simply prayer like Jesus I know I am a sinner, but I believe You died on the cross for my sins, please come into my life and be my Lord and Saviour Amen
5. Next connect them with a good church and a community of believers
Father we ask that You will help us to reach the lost, that you will create moments and spaces for us to share our testimony of coming to Jesus. And that through this multitudes with come to know you as their Lord and Saviour. In Jesus name. AMEN
