Your identity Day 1

Your identity is not in what you do or have become, But in the one Who called you and who He called you to become. So often we see our worth or identity in what we have gained, lack, or what we ourselves have become. This can cause frustration and can be a dark place for us ! Why is this ?It is because we have reduced our understanding of our identity to a world view or concept. Our world view of identity is false and can even give us a false sense of security ! The bible says of this ; ‘the hidden will be exposed’.Luke 8:17 ( NKJV)
For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light’.

I believe the Lord exposes the things that are hidden so that we have an opportunity to step back into all He created us to be ! The identity He is calling us into, to becoming, is the person in His original blueprint for us ! When we are living in this, we understand that it will not matter what the circumstances are around us, or what we have, or do not have. We will have peace, assurance and security. This is what Paul described.Philippians 4:12 (NIV)
‘I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want’.
So Here is your challenge for today. 

1. Ask the Lord to search your heart and Life, and identify false understandings established through mis-identity.

2. Ask the Lord to show you the truth in these area’s of your life.

3. At this point you can embrace and pick up what He has shown you, or reject it !

4. Here is a prayer you may wish to pray : ‘Father I choose today to embark on, or reject the new understanding You’re offering me’! 5. If you choose to make the change, pray this prayer with me ;‘Father God, I choose to let go my past perspective of how I see my identity and I lay it down at your feet. I choose instead to pick up the truth of how You see me, as I start this journey of discovering my true Identity in You’. Amen

6. Spend time reflecting and in worship and praise for Him. For this is a big step in the journey we are on, and will continue over the next 11 days.

7. Thank the Lord for all He has done so far and in faith for what is to come.
Ok that’s enough for today!

Let’s pray,
Father it says in your word ; ‘who can comprehend the depth, height and width of Your Love for us’. You create us as individuals, each with a different and unique purpose. Help us Father to comprehend Your love for us personally and see who we were formed to be. Help us hear the voice of declaration that declares the identity of who we are, paving the way for us to become who you created us to be ! Amen!

18 be fully capable of comprehending with all the saints (God’s people) the width and length and height and depth of His love [fully experiencing that amazing, endless love];
